Nvidia: Early advisors claimed the disputed value of its stock options exceeded $1 billion
2026-10-05 04:56:37
According to CoinMeta, Eric Gullichsen, an early advisor to Nvidia, claims that 9,375 out of the 25,000 stock options granted to him in 1993 are missing, with a current value of approximately $1.05 billion. Nvidia considers this claim to be outdated and has not disputed the authenticity of the documents. Gullichsen states that Nvidia's financial director wrote in 1996 that only 15,625 options had been vested, whereas he believes that according to the agreement, all options should have been fully vested within one year. Since then, the shares of Nvidia have undergone a 480:1 split, so the missing 9,375 options are now equivalent to 4.5 million shares, valued at approximately $1.05 billion based on the current stock price.
