According to CoinMeta, Google has announced that it has secured 3,590 megawatts (approximately 3.6 gigawatts) of power supply from Constellation Energy to connect to the largest power grid in the United States, PJM Interconnection. This agreement will provide the substantial energy required for Google's data centers, with about a quarter of the power coming from a new nuclear power plant. Constellation will invest over $4.3 billion to increase capacity. Google has signed a 20-year agreement with Constellation for 890 megawatts of nuclear power, which is expected to be online by 2028. This move reflects the emphasis that large tech companies place on power supply in the AI competition. Microsoft also supports the restoration of the Three Mile Island reactor in Pennsylvania for use by its data centers.
