According to CoinMeta, payment company Conduit Technology accuses Tether of freezing $2.76 million of its operating funds, although the Brazilian police investigation did not specifically identify that wallet. According to the lawsuit, the wallet has been frozen since September 24, 2025. Conduit filed a lawsuit in the Manhattan Federal Court, requesting the lifting of the freeze and claiming compensation. The lawsuit states that Tether did not provide an explanation for the freeze and referred Conduit to the Brazilian police. Conduit claims that the frozen funds affected its customers' ability to pay, leading to layoffs and the closure of offices.
