According to CoinMeta, SpaceX is seeking approximately $40 billion in financing to purchase Nvidia chips in order to support its AI competition. According to the announcement from SpaceX, the Starmind satellites will operate using solar energy in geosynchronous orbit, with each satellite having a peak processing capacity of 250 kilowatts. Gartner estimates that global AI expenditures will reach $2.7 trillion by 2026, reflecting a 49.5% increase, mainly due to infrastructure costs. Although the economics of placing infrastructure in orbit are still complex, this financing will strengthen Nvidia's market position while putting competitors under greater cost pressure.
