Vitalik Buterin: AI may weaken the security of password-based encryption within two years; it is not recommended to migrate assets in a hasty manner.

According to CoinMeta, Vitalik Buterin has issued a warning that accelerated mathematical research by AI could significantly weaken the security of lattice cryptography systems in the next two years, including technologies such as ML-DSA and fully homomorphic encryption ( FHE ), and may even expose ECDSA to the risk of premature cracking. Ethereum's Lean roadmap has shifted towards pure hash signature schemes to reduce reliance on lattice cryptography. Buterin recommends prioritizing the storage of funds in addresses that have not initiated any transactions, but does not suggest rushing to migrate assets immediately, and advises multi-signature wallets to use off-chain signature confirmation.
