Goldman Sachs: AI may temporarily replace 9% of the labor force
2026-10-22 20:56:05
According to CoinMeta, Goldman Sachs stated that AI could temporarily replace about 9% of the workforce during the transition period. Goldman Sachs estimates that the 15% increase in productivity brought about by AI will lead to a rise in unemployment rates; for every 1% increase in productivity, unemployment rates are expected to rise by 0.3-0.4 percentage points, and this effect usually subsides within two years. Historical research indicates that occupations hit hard by technology typically lose 25% of their jobs within five years. Goldman Sachs warns that layoffs related to AI may accelerate during economic downturns, further exacerbating the weakness in the labor market.
