Double Line Capital: Long-term U.S. Treasuries still face downward pressure

According to CoinMeta, Jeff Sherman, the deputy chief investment officer of DoubleLine Capital, stated that large-scale government borrowing and weakening demand will continue to put pressure on long-term U.S. Treasurys. Although concerns about artificial intelligence trading and turmoil in the French market drove a rebound in safe-haven demand, causing U.S. Treasurys to rise on Thursday, he believes that this was merely a recovery from an overreaction and did not change the fundamental pressures facing long-term bonds. Sherman said that DoubleLine Capital continues to have a significantly low allocation to long-term U.S. Treasurys in most of its portfolios, with some portfolios even going short on the longer end of the yield curve. He also criticized U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen's attempts to lower U.S. Treasury yields, stating that Yellen used tough rhetoric to communicate with the market, but the market response was not positive. He believes that if the government wants to attract investors, it should boost investor confidence rather than criticize critics.
