Gold price stabilizes at a three-month low; market focuses on liquidity-driven selling and rebound

According to CoinMeta, after investors sold off precious metals and global stock markets experienced a wave of selling, gold prices stabilized near their lowest closing levels in over three months. Spot gold prices fell nearly 3% on the previous trading day, dropping to their lowest level since July 20, and are currently hovering around $4,020 per ounce. On Thursday, U.S. stock markets declined, and yields on some U.S. Treasury bonds tumbled significantly, with declines of up to 20 basis points. Traders' risk aversion increased, leading them to buy bonds as a hedge against risks. Analyst Justin Lin noted that gold may face "liquidity-driven selling" in the near term, a situation that often occurs during sharp market declines because gold has good liquidity and can be used to meet margin requirements and capital needs. He also pointed out that gold prices are approaching the key level of $3,900 per ounce. Although gold still faces downward pressure in the short term, there is a possibility of a "V-shaped rebound." Lower interest rates, a cooling of the artificial intelligence trading boom, and capital flowing out of the United States, which could weaken the dollar, would all be favorable for precious metals.
