CoinMeta data: According to the latest data released by the Energy Information Administration of the U.S. Department of Energy, U.S. liquefied natural gas exports to the European Union in August increased by 36% compared to July, reaching approximately 5.5 million tons. Statistics show that U.S. liquefied natural gas exports in August totaled about 10.8 million tons, of which 51% were destined for the EU. Among EU countries, the Netherlands received the most U.S.-owned liquefied natural gas, amounting to 1.2 million tons, a nearly 5% increase from the previous month. Italy came in second, receiving 1 million tons. U.S. liquefied natural gas exports to France more than doubled in August, reaching 800,000 tons, while supplies to Germany increased by 1.7 times to 700,000 tons. Reuters analyzes that against the backdrop of rising international energy prices due to the delayed conflict with Iran, many European countries are seeking to diversify their energy supply and have increased imports from the United States. At the same time, as winter approaches, European countries are increasing their natural gas reserves in advance, leading to greater procurement efforts.
