According to CoinMeta, as reported by Bloomberg, Kalshi is promoting U.S. inflation futures to major Wall Street banks and hedge funds, with plans to launch exchange-traded futures contracts tracking the Consumer Price Index (CPI) and core CPI in December. Kalshi has hired former Barclays trader Michael Ashton to be responsible for product design and institutional customer development. According to the promotional materials, the contracts will cover the next 12 months, as well as May and November of each subsequent year for four years, supporting 24-hour trading from Sunday to Friday, with Kalshi Klear handling clearing. The product is aimed at attracting institutional investors from the inflation bond and swap markets, facilitating Kalshi's expansion from the forecasting market to the traditional futures market, and competing with exchanges such as CME.
