The US OCC releases final stablecoin regulations, removing the automatic 7-day redemption extension clause
2026-10-24 16:58:23
According to CoinMeta, the final stablecoin regulations issued by the US Monetary Supervision Agency OCC will come into effect on January 18, 2027. The new regulations remove the automatic seven-day calendar extension for redemptions and set a maximum redemption period of two working days. If a single-day redemption request exceeds 10% of the circulating supply, the issuer must notify the OCC regulatory office and may not delay redemptions due to onboarding defects. The revised PS-01 reports will track unpaid tokens and redemption durations, with the first reporting dates being January 25, 2027, and March 31, 2027, respectively.
