According to CoinMeta, Chroma has announced that it has signed an agreement with Replit and will join them. Chroma's open-source vector database, chromadb, is downloaded about 6 million times per month, and has nearly 30,000 star ratings. Replit is interested in the enterprise-level AI memory system agent developed by Chroma. This system can read messages from Codex and Slack, and extracts team experience through the backend agent to update the corporate knowledge base. Different agent can share this knowledge to avoid repeated exploration. The two parties collaborated as early as 2023 to launch a AI application development template. Replit CEO Amjad Masad and President Michele Catasta are also early investors in Chroma. Chroma's existing cloud services will stop writing data from November 22nd and stop reading data from December 22nd; current customers need to complete data migration before that time. The open-source chromadb will continue to use the Apache 2.0 license, with some closed-source code already made available. Replit has committed to continuing to contribute code.
