AI New Breakthrough: Predicting the Survival of Cancer Patients from Facial Photos
2026-10-25 17:08:08
According to CoinMeta, Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH) at Massachusetts General Hospital in the United States recently issued a statement stating that its researchers used over 40 million facial images to train an artificial intelligence (AI) base model, and based on this developed a tool for estimating a person's biological age and predicting the survival outcomes of cancer patients. The related research paper was recently published in the British medical journal The Lancet Digital Health. This model is named “Health Recognition AI Base Model.” The research team further developed two tools based on this model: one for estimating the biological age of patients, and the other for directly predicting the survival prognosis of cancer patients based on facial photographs.
