Deutsche Bank: If the ECB sends cautious signals, the euro could fall further
2026-10-29 20:30:42
According to CoinMeta, an analyst from Deutsche Bank, Antje Praefcke, stated in a report that if the European Central Bank (ECB) maintains current interest rates when announcing its decision and signals caution regarding potential future rate hikes, the euro could continue to weaken. She pointed out that, given France's fiscal difficulties, the ECB is unlikely to signal a strong tightening of policy. The market still believes that the ECB may raise interest rates once more by the middle of next year and even twice by the end of 2027. Praefcke mentioned that if the ECB's cautious stance causes the market to lower its expectations for future interest rates, the euro could fall to around 1.10 US dollars.
