Polygon Expands Stablecoin Payment Infrastructure to Solana
2026-10-29 21:21:34
According to CoinMeta, Polygon Labs is expanding its stablecoin payment infrastructure to Solana, providing a single connection for businesses on that network to withdraw funds from bank accounts, transfer cryptocurrencies across chains, and make payments to customers and suppliers. This expansion introduces its funding stack to Solana for the first time, aiming to solve a persistent issue in crypto payments: transferring funds from bank accounts to wallets, converting them, and then back to the recipient's bank account usually requires integrating multiple providers. Through this platform, Solana businesses can connect bank, card, cash, and crypto funding channels, create embedded wallets, and route and convert funds between networks such as Polygon, Ethereum, and Tron. Cross-border payment company Kira is one of the first businesses to adopt this stack, using it to help customers convert stablecoins into US dollars to pay overseas suppliers. This expansion reflects Solana's growing attractiveness as a payment venue, having processed over $5 trillion in stablecoin transactions this year.
