Microsoft plans to issue $25 billion in bonds to support the AI infrastructure

According to CoinMeta, Microsoft plans to raise at least $25 billion through a bond issuance in the United States, which marks its first investment-grade bond issuance in the U.S. since 2017. With the total global AI infrastructure borrowing exceeding $313 billion, Microsoft's bond issuance will join this historic wave of borrowing. The transaction will include up to ten bond tranches with maturities ranging from two to forty years, and the final scale is not yet determined. This plan reflects that even profitable technology companies are increasingly relying on the debt market to support their infrastructure expansion. Microsoft's AAA credit rating allows it to borrow under more favorable terms.
