Nasdaq Responds to Controversy over Stock Tokenization Plans
2026-10-30 06:42:47
According to CoinMeta, as reported by journalist Eleanor Terrett, regarding the allegations that NASDAQ representatives are suspected of discouraging listed companies from tokenizing their stocks through the TSV scheme via OKX / ICE, a NASDAQ spokesperson refused to comment. Previously, 38 companies had raised objections to this tokenization scheme, 23 of which are NASDAQ-listed companies. NASDAQ reiterated that it has no plans to participate in trading platforms that operate under the SEC innovation exemption, stating that this is not the best approach to tokenization. Instead, NASDAQ will continue to promote the issuer-centered Nasdaq Equity Token model to achieve tokenization within the existing market framework.
