According to CoinMeta, Uber collaborated with HSBC, Franklin Templeton, TradeWeb, and Fireblocks to complete a pilot project for corporate fund management based on Canton Network. Uber utilized tokensized deposits issued by HSBC to purchase Franklin Templeton’s tokenized money market funds on Thursday and sold them on Sunday. Unlike traditional corporations that typically need to redeem funds before the market closes on Friday, this transaction allowed Uber to gain an additional approximately 1.5 days of investment returns. It also verified the feasibility of using blockchain for fund scheduling and settlement over weekends. Manish Kohli, the head of HSBC’s global payments business, stated that this pilot has proven that the relevant technology is ready for deployment and that this capability can now be offered to other corporate clients in the United States. In the future, there are plans to expand the range of investment products available.
