Anthropic Faces Risk of Junk Credit Ratings, Blackstone Warns Investors
2026-10-31 03:08:51
According to CoinMeta, Blackstone warned investors that the artificial intelligence company Anthropic might receive a credit rating below investment grade after its initial public offering (IPO), contrary to earlier expectations. According to The Financial Times, the company was expected to receive an BB rating, which could increase borrowing costs and limit its ability to obtain institutional capital. Anthropic plans to invest over $800 billion in computing infrastructure by 2045, and its $63 billion Polaris project financing relies heavily on the guarantees of Broadcom with an investment-grade rating. The company currently holds over $112 billion in cash and may raise another $100 billion through IPO.
