TBC Applies Neural Network Algorithms to Alibaba Wan 2.2, Doubling Video Generation Speed
2026-10-31 23:15:00
According to CoinMeta, TBC is an American company founded by two neurosurgeons that recently released a video model called Mischief. This model is based on Alibaba's open-source Wan 2.2 and only adds less than 0.1% of additional parameters. TBC claims that, while maintaining comparable image quality, the video generation speed is at least five times faster, and the inference cost is reduced by about 80%. This technology stems from the team's four-year research on living neurons. Researchers cultivated brain cells on a chip with 4096 electrodes, converting visual information into electrical stimuli and recording the patterns of neural activity transmission and decay. Mischief 1 has already been integrated into FAL and OpenRouter, supporting the generation of 3-second or 5-second videos from images. Generating a 5-second 480p video costs only 2.5 cents, while a 720p video costs 5 cents.
