According to CoinMeta, blockchain analysis firm Chainalysis reported that on October 31st, Beijing time, Ethereum underwent a chain reorganization, which led to Thorchain mistakenly making duplicate refunds to a user who had deposited 10 ETH. This error triggered an emergency pause, temporarily preventing all users from exchanging assets through most of its cross-chain bridges. The malfunction also inadvertently delayed the process by which North Korean hackers attempted to launder a large amount of funds stolen from Binance via Thorchain.
