According to CoinMeta, OpenAI co-founder Andrej Karpathy stated that dissatisfied with YouTube's recommendation mechanism, he asked Claude to create a video recommendation website HackerTube within two hours. This website includes 6,454 videos covering 150 topics, with the videos sourced from Hacker News's nearly 20 years of recommendation records, rather than using YouTube's algorithm. HackerTube does not require login, and individual browsing history is saved locally; video covers are uniformly taken from a frame in the middle of each video. Claude processed approximately 43 million historical comments Hacker News, and finally selected recommended videos from 40,000 valid comments. The project consumed 504 million inputs token and 7.6 million outputs token, with 90% of the resources used for comment classification. HackerTube has now been launched, and the recommendation data is available for download. Users can use this data to create their own personalized video websites.
