According to CoinMeta, the AI giant Anthropic reported revenue of nearly $17 billion in the third quarter as of September 30, a 12-fold increase from the same period last year. This performance is expected to further boost market expectations for this artificial intelligence company, and its listing size could set a record. According to documents submitted to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on Monday, the Claude platform developer incurred a net loss of $23.3 billion over the three months ending at the end of September, compared to a net loss of $12.1 billion in the same period last year. Operating expenses for that quarter increased to $17.5 billion, a year-on-year increase of 292%. The documents show that Anthropic currently has contractual and other commitment expenses totaling $895 billion, most of which are related to computing power and infrastructure. It is estimated that about $448 billion of these expenses will be incurred by the end of 2030, with approximately $70 billion to be paid within 12 months ending September 2027. Anthropic submitted an application for its initial public offering (IPO) on October 26 and plans to list before the U.S. Thanksgiving holiday. Informed sources previously revealed that the company hopes to raise a similar amount or more than the $86.2 billion it raised during its initial public offering.
