According to CoinMeta, Wu said that Ethereum’s L2 network announced that it would officially shut down on November 2nd. Services such as Lisk Portal and Lisk Bridge were also taken offline simultaneously, and the remaining on-chain infrastructure would be gradually discontinued. After the shutdown, approximately 5.2 million LSK tokens remaining in the staking reward contracts will be destroyed, including both unallocated and earned but unclaimed rewards. Previously, Lisk had already destroyed 100 million LSK tokens in September. Lisk will shift to a financial services platform for enterprises, integrating functions such as fiat and stablecoin accounts, cross-border payments, approval management, and crypto asset management. LSK will continue to operate on Ethereum as a loyalty token for Lisk.
