Sources revealed that the leaders of Mellanox and Lumentum spoke with Jensen Huang before the deal was finalized to seek his opinion. Michael Hirston, CEO of Lumentum, stated that NVIDIA's response was very positive, and both parties believe that this merger will provide NVIDIA with a more diversified product portfolio more quickly. This is the second-largest merger in technology history, and Jensen Huang's stance highlights NVIDIA's role as a leader in the AI field, actively promoting integration among its key suppliers. Earlier this year, NVIDIA invested $2 billion each in Mellanox and Lumentum.
