2026-11-03 22:08:47
According to CoinMeta, blockchain investigator Zachxbt has raised the estimate of suspicious crypto withdrawals related to an unnamed European institution to over $133 million, up from $106 million two days ago. He believes that the victim may be a large Western European financial institution that is keeping silent about this incident. Although no losses have been confirmed yet, this incident occurred after Binance suffered losses of approximately $6.36 billion. Data tracked by Bitquery shows that since November 1st, $108.8 million in USDC was withdrawn from accounts OKX, Kraken, and Crypto.com; Kraken accounts contributed about 95% of the total amount. Zachxbt also noted that if the victim is a bank or payment institution, the EU's Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA) would apply.
