According to CoinMeta, hackers stole $6.3 billion from Binance on Thursday, with most of the funds being transferred within about 20 minutes. On Saturday, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) confirmed that a North Korean group, identified as TraderTraitor, was behind the attack. Binance reopened withdrawals on Sunday and stated that it had replaced 95% of the stolen coins with its own funds, but users still withdrew a net amount of $3.6 billion in less than ten hours. Videos show how the hackers managed to infiltrate the system and how Elliptic believes the money laundering process was automated.
