According to CoinMeta, and as reported by American media, Democratic candidate Bob Brooks defeated Republican U.S. Representative Ryan McKenzie of Pennsylvania on Tuesday, successfully flipping a House of Representatives seat in this key swing state for the presidential election. Brooks is the president of a firefighters' union in Pennsylvania. During this electoral cycle, Democrats have been attempting to take back four districts in Pennsylvania from the Republicans, and this seat was one of them. In the 2024 presidential election, Trump won in McKenzie's district by a margin of 3 percentage points. Nationally, Democrats need to gain a net of four seats in order to take control of the U.S. House of Representatives.
