According to CoinMeta, there is a three-year action plan for the construction of new energy storage projects in Sichuan Province (2026-2028). The plan proposes that during the period from 2026 to 2028, the province will add more than 13 million kilowatts (13 GW) of new energy storage capacity, which is equivalent to 26 million kilowatt-hours (26 MWh). Of this, 5 million kilowatts (5 GW) will be on the power generation side, 6 million kilowatts (6 GW) on the power grid side, and over 2 million kilowatts (2 MW) will be used in multi-scenario applications. New energy storage projects are encouraged to integrate with the new power system through integrated sources, grids, loads, and storage, as well as through new business models such as virtual power plants and smart microgrids, in order to improve the level of efficient utilization.
