According to CoinMeta, the hackers behind Binance have transferred approximately 81% of the stolen Solana ( SOL ), and continue to launder the funds through Thorchain. According to data from the blockchain platform Arkham, the hacker entity holds 182,443 SOL (valued at about 16.9 million US dollars), which accounts for about 18.8% of the total stolen amount of 970,522 SOL. The hackers dispersed the SOL across multiple wallets, sold them for USDC, transferred them across chains to Ethereum to buy Ether, and finally exchanged them for Bitcoin ( BTC ) through Thorchain. Binance indicates that 98% of the affected tokens have been recovered, and losses will be absorbed. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) attributes this attack to a North Korean hacker group and urges crypto service providers to block transactions related to the stolen assets.
