According to CoinMeta, Riot Platforms has completed the transfer of its digital assets from NYDIG Trust Company to BitGo Bank and Trust, officially ending the Bitcoin custody arrangement that began in November 2023. According to the SEC document dated November 4th, the company's previous custody agreement automatically terminated on October 29th, and BitGo took over the responsibility for safeguarding its digital assets. Riot confirmed that no early termination fees were incurred at the end of the agreement with NYDIG. Riot disclosed the plan to transfer assets to BitGo in a regulatory document on October 14th, and the latest updates confirm that this process has been completed. Riot originally signed a custody agreement with NYDIG on November 1, 2023, which required payment of an annual custody fee based on the dollar value of the Bitcoin held. The new agreement was signed on October 7th and revised on October 14th; BitGo is responsible for safeguarding the company's digital assets and cash. The agreement requires BitGo to maintain a dedicated custody account for Riot to ensure that its holdings are separated from those of other customers and BitGo's own assets.
