According to CoinMeta, a survey conducted by a European investment bank ( EIB ) shows that most EU citizens support accelerating the move away from dependence on oil and natural gas towards alternative energy sources and promoting the electrification of transportation. The survey covered 23,000 respondents, and the data indicates that 87% of them want governments to prioritize energy transition. Among them, 52% believe that solar energy should hold the primary position among low-carbon alternative energy sources, 37% support the priority development of wind energy, while only 19% think nuclear energy should be given priority. The CEO of EIB pointed out that since the signing of the Paris Agreement, EU member states that have invested the most have seen the greatest increases in electricity prices in the fields of wind energy, solar energy, and electric vehicles, whereas countries that are relatively lagging in the transition process have managed to keep their energy expenditures at more affordable levels.
