Singapore Gradually Lifts Smog Emergency Measures
2026-11-05 20:39:33
According to CoinMeta, as the smoke and haze from the wildfires in Indonesia diminishes, the air quality in Singapore has improved after several weeks of thick fog. Most government departments will cease implementing measures to address the haze starting on Saturday. The National Environment Agency of Singapore announced that the distribution of N95 masks and masks of equivalent protection levels through vending machines and community clubs will end at 18:00 on November 7th, and the air-conditioned lounges in some designated shelters will also close at the same time. The agency noted that with the arrival of the monsoon season and increased rainfall, the haze situation in Singapore has improved. Previously, affected by Indonesia's severe wildfire season, Singapore's air quality was at an "unhealthy" or "very unhealthy" level for several weeks in a row. On Wednesday, Singapore also tightened laws related to cross-border haze, added new restrictions, and imposed fines on businesses that have business dealings with entities or individuals suspected of being involved in triggering the wildfires.
