Airbus delivered about 74 aircraft in October; still needs to deliver 250 more this year to meet targets

According to CoinMeta, sources familiar with the matter revealed that Airbus delivered around 74 aircraft in October. This means that the European aircraft manufacturer must accelerate deliveries at an unprecedented pace in the last two months of this year to meet its delivery targets for 2026. Airbus still needs to deliver another 250 aircraft to reach its annual target of approximately 870, which corresponds to more than 6 deliveries per working day. A former Ascend by Cirium executive Rob Morris stated that Airbus has never achieved such a delivery rate before. Although Airbus has increased production in the second half of this year and has previously delivered over 100 aircraft in a single month, the company has had to lower its annual delivery targets for 2024 and 2025 due to shortages of parts and additional inspections caused by quality issues with suppliers. Last month, Airbus reiterated its expectation to meet its annual delivery targets. CEO Guillaume Faury stated that the supply chain situation has improved, and Pratt & Whitney is expected to provide a sufficient number of engines to help Airbus achieve its delivery goals. Previously, there were disputes between Airbus and this engine manufacturer regarding delayed engine deliveries.
