According to CoinMeta, the U.S. stock market experienced widespread selling, with the Nasdaq Composite Index and the Nasdaq 100 Index falling by approximately 4% and 4.52%, respectively. The S&P 500 Index declined by 2.7%, breaking below its 100-day moving average and September lows. Both the Nasdaq and Nasdaq 100 indexes also fell below their 200-day moving averages, and any short-term rebound will need to regain these key technical levels. Stocks in the storage sector, such as SanDisk, Western Data, Micron Technology, and SK Hynix, fell by more than 10%. Chip stocks like AMD, Qualcomm, and ARM also fell by over 10%. Data center connectivity and optical communication stocks, including Asteralabs, Lumentum, Coherent, Credo, and Mellanox Technologies, saw declines of over 10%. Semiconductor equipment companies like Lamina Group and Applied Materials also experienced losses of over 10%. Cloud computing and power supply providers, represented by Nebius, CoreWeave, and BloomEnergy, also fell by over 10%, with BloomEnergy and SanDisk experiencing declines close to 18%. The breadth of the market deterioration is evident, as the number of declining stocks on NASDAQ was nearly four times that of rising stocks, and on the New York Stock Exchange, it was about 2.5 times. The S&P 500 Index saw a similar ratio, indicating that the selling pressure has spread across a broader market.
