blockaid: There is a state root calculation error in the RETH client, affecting some EVM blockchains

According to CoinMeta, as disclosed by security firm blockaid, there is a state root calculation error in the RETH client and its derivative client OP-RETH, affecting some blockchain networks including multiple OP to stack chains. Unfixed nodes may experience synchronization pauses or return incorrect state proofs (ETH_getproof). This issue is a client correctness flaw and is not a known attack event; no financial losses have been reported yet. RETH merged the fix on November 3rd, and the affected versions include RETH to OP-RETH, v2.8.1, base, node-RETH, and v1.5.3. As a preventive measure, layerzero has temporarily suspended the underlying infrastructure of some affected chains, resulting in delays in cross-chain messages. However, no deposits or cross-chain routing functions have been lost. It is recommended that relevant node operators and RPC service providers upgrade their systems as soon as possible.
