According to CoinMeta, Chainalysis announced that its platform was hacked. The hackers used “aggressive agent technology” to expose the names, usernames, password hashes, and valid tokens of all users. It is suspected that some customers’ KYT accounts were accessed without authorization. Chainalysis has taken down its transaction monitoring tools, address screening, and investigation platforms, and has required all users to reset their passwords and rotate their API keys. The Japanese exchange Coincheck has suspended cryptocurrency withdrawals due to a failure in an external blockchain analysis service, and Iconomi has also paused withdrawals on the grounds of Chainalysis service issues.
