According to CoinMeta, Rezaei, the secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, stated that he discussed with Russian President Putin the supply of Russian natural gas to Iran, including matters related to the construction of necessary infrastructure. Iran's national television station reported, quoting Rezaei, that the two sides discussed matters concerning the Rasht-Astara railway line, and Iran is about to sign an implementation contract. In addition, they also discussed the issue of laying natural gas pipelines from Russia to Iran. This move will not only help Iran alleviate its natural gas shortage but also provide Iran with the opportunity to sell Russian natural gas to neighboring countries.
