Ethereum Foundation: Some projects face security risks after the Glamsterdam upgrade

According to CoinMeta, Wu said that on November 6th, the Ethereum Foundation announced that a security auditing firm had recently discovered that some projects might face compatibility and security risks with smart contracts after an upgrade to Glamsterdam. The reason is that EIP-8037 and EIP-8038 will adjust the cost of certain operations and the billing mechanism for state storage in gas, which could disrupt the execution assumptions relied upon by existing contracts. Based on these findings, Ethereum's core developers have decided to postpone the testnet hard fork of Hoodi until the issues are resolved. The foundation has now published a list of eight types of execution assumptions that may be affected, along with examples for checking, calling on smart contract developers and auditing firms to examine their projects, including both on-chain contracts and off-chain services. The Ethereum team is working together with several auditing firms to conduct reviews and assess whether any modifications to the relevant EIP are necessary based on the scope of the impact.
