According to CoinMeta, Nordisk Bank may face a fine of 6.6 billion Danish kroner (approximately $988 million), as a Danish court is about to render a verdict in a case regarding the bank's failure to effectively prevent money laundering over a decade ago. This is the first time in Denmark that a money laundering investigation involving a bank has reached the courtroom. The prosecution is seeking a fine for transactions totaling 26 billion Danish kroner (about $3.9 billion) between 2012 and 2015, which were primarily conducted through a branch of Nordisk Bank in Copenhagen. Nordisk Bank denies the allegations, while the Danish National Special Crime Investigation Unit states that this is the most comprehensive prosecution case involving violations of the Anti-Money Laundering Law in the Danish banking sector.
