According to CoinMeta, Chile's annual inflation rate in October further accelerated, remaining above the central bank's target. Data released by the National Institute of Statistics of Chile on Friday showed that the consumer price index rose 4.5% year-on-year in October, slightly lower than the median forecast of 4.6% by economists surveyed by Bloomberg, and matched the highest level since April 2025. In October, CPI rose 0.5% month-on-month. According to the National Institute of Statistics, transportation costs increased by 2% month-on-month in October, energy prices rose by 2.7%, and food and non-alcoholic beverage prices rose by 1%. Meanwhile, clothing prices fell by 4.1%. Since the beginning of this year, the Central Bank of Chile has maintained its benchmark interest rate at 4.5% unchanged, but with factors such as the conflict in the Middle East and extreme weather exacerbating price pressures, the central bank may soon change this policy stance.
