According to CoinMeta, South Korea's Kospi index triggered a trading suspension on November 6 due to a 8.8% intraday plunge, and ultimately closed down 6.02% at 5,059.69 points, marking the lowest closing level since March. Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix led the decline in AI stocks, reflecting the country's heavy reliance on semiconductor manufacturing. Foreign investors sold approximately 2.77 trillion Korean won worth of South Korean stocks on Friday, while domestic institutions purchased about 1.70 trillion Korean won, and retail investors also bought around 605 billion Korean won, helping to reduce losses. Market concerns regarding AI infrastructure investment have intensified, especially after the U.S. mid-term elections, as investors have become more cautious about future orders.
