Microsoft reduces its AI computing partnership with Oracle

According to CoinMeta, Microsoft announced that it will reduce its partnership with Oracle's computing solutions, choosing not to renew certain aspects of the agreement. Due to reliance on older NVIDIA chips that no longer meet Microsoft's specifications, this computing capability has become impractical, prompting Microsoft to shut down the leased infrastructure in the past few months. This move is part of a broader re-evaluation of Microsoft's cloud partnerships and expenditures on AI infrastructure. Oracle, on the other hand, stated that demand for its AI infrastructure remains strong, including for the older GPU products. In September, Oracle announced that it had renewed some four-year-old GPU contracts at a 20% higher price than the original cost.
