Bitcoin core developer proposes a solution to the threat of quantum computing

According to CoinMeta, as revealed by an industry insider hasheur, Bitcoin core developer Cory Fields has recently proposed a solution to address the threat of quantum computing, aiming to reduce the risk of old wallets being attacked by quantum computers through an economic penalty mechanism. This solution requires that when transferring old wallets whose public keys have been exposed BTC, the transaction initiator must first lock up an amount of BTC equivalent to the transfer value as collateral before the transfer can be completed after several weeks. During this period, the original holder can raise objections through a pre-set verification mechanism to retain their original BTC and obtain the collateral from the attacker, thereby increasing the cost of coin theft. However, this mechanism cannot protect wallets for which the private keys have been lost BTC, and legal holders also need to provide collateral when making transfers. Currently, this solution is still in the discussion stage among developers and has not yet been officially implemented.
