According to CoinMeta, the Securities and Futures Commission of Hong Kong has released a summary of its consultation, proposing to amend the "Securities and Futures Ordinance" and the "Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing Prevention Ordinance" to restrict unauthorized entities from using certain terms that may lead the public to mistakenly believe they are regulated or associated with virtual asset trading platforms. The terms proposed to be restricted include "crypto", "cryptocurrency", "crypto coin", "digital asset", "digital coin", "token", "tokenised assets", "virtual asset", "virtual coin", as well as "exchange", "market", "trading platform" and similar combinations.
