According to CoinMeta, the U.S. military has announced the establishment of a special task force aimed at cutting off Iran's land transportation routes used for illegal shipments. The U.S. Central Command issued a statement on November 7th stating that the task force will consist of about 20 civilian and military personnel and will be based in Tampa, Florida, operating as an internal team within Central Command. This team will coordinate with other U.S. government agencies to prevent advanced weapons systems, dual-use technologies, sanctioned materials, and illegal funds from passing through Iran's land borders and the Caspian Sea. General Cooper stated that the establishment of the task force consolidates the success of the maritime blockade against Iran and further restricts Iran's ability to fund terrorism and replenish its military forces. In recent months, the U.S. maritime blockade has resulted in Iran losing over $25 billion in crude oil exports.
