According to CoinMeta, recently, Israeli President Herzog officially authorized Yitzhak Ehud Olmert, the leader of the Likud party and former Chief of Staff of the Israeli military, to form a new government. Although Olmert has received 67 recommendations from various parties, this does not guarantee that the new government can be successfully established. The Israeli Knesset has a total of 120 seats, with a minimum requirement of 61 seats to form a government. Next, Ehud Olmert will need to negotiate alliance policies and government positions with other parties interested in forming a coalition. Under Israeli law, the member authorized to form a government has 28 days to do so, and if necessary, the president may extend this period by up to 14 more days. If the attempt to form a government fails, the president may authorize another member to try, with a time limit of 28 days again, without any further extension possible.
