July marked the first month of growth for the DeFi lending market in 2026. After five consecutive months of decline, the active loan balance of major lending protocols increased from $20.7 billion in June to $22.2 billion in July (a 7.2% increase). @aave continued to lead with an active loan balance of $11 billion and a market share of 46.2%. @aave and @Morpho together account for nearly two-thirds of the market share. Currently, the growth in July appears more like the first attempt at recovery after a prolonged decline, rather than a complete reversal of the trend. 👇

Wednesday's Earnings Roundup Let's look at some interesting and promising investment projects you might have forgotten about. 1) New Project $AUTO is launched! Sort of. $AUTO is a new asset from @hastra, similar to $PRIME, handling the entire loan process from origination to securitization, but this time it's not home equity line-of-credit (HELOC) loans, but auto loans. A ~8.22% annual interest rate is a pretty good benchmark yield, but once it launches on @kamino, with reasonable leverage, the yield should reach 15-20%, which will be even more exciting. You all know I love the exogenous returns from $PRIME, so I hope $AUTO will be as good as its predecessor. 2) New Project @tori_finance is great. They had a fantastic pre-sale, and I love their marketing concept—they're offering institutional-grade (actually) yields, not retail yields. This is primarily reflected in futures arbitrage, calendar spreads, and options trading. While these operations are theoretically feasible for retail investors, scaling up and conducting them on a large scale is crucial. strUSD currently yields around 12%, largely thanks to the existence of trUSD, which doesn't generate yield. trUSD's TVL (total value limit) is due to points speculation. I believe Tori's strategy is unique enough (a traditional source of yield) that they can currently dominate this space. At least seeing new things is exciting; the real question is whether they can maintain attractive yields after the points era. Already available on Pendle, perhaps soon it will also be available for cyclical trading on Morpho? 3) Special Purpose sUSD3 is what I call a rather special or potentially high-risk stablecoin yield. It's a sub-segment of @3janexyz's offering, meaning you'll be exposed to leveraged risk from any losses they might suffer in their private lending agreements. This bond offers a 23% yield and has a maturity of nearly six months, so you'll need to choose between locking in almost 10% return on your investment and incurring over four months of leveraged private credit losses. This might be worth considering for those who can reasonably assess private credit. 4) Special Bonds There are some non-US sovereign bond yields worth watching. But in reality, the Turkish lira and the Brazilian real are the two truly dominant currencies in the DeFi space. @brix_money's wiTRY project has performed surprisingly well, but remember not to observe the lira's chart for more than a year, and be aware that the stability of local currencies is not guaranteed in the long run. However, the Turkish lira's yield against the US dollar has consistently been higher than its depreciation rate over the past few years. If you want to know about the Brazilian real's yield, please check out my post from yesterday. 5) The Same Thing Again @re's reUSDe project still offers a fixed yield above 15% on the @pendle_fi platform. It's important to note that this is a mezzanine bond, not a subordinated bond, and while it's redeemable, the redemption amount is approximately one-quarter of the fund's net asset value, with a cap. Therefore, you should expect its market discount to be approximately one-quarter of the fund's net asset value. In short, besides a decent fixed yield, from what I last checked, they have some of the best leveraged cycles on reUSD, namely their senior tranche. You can refer to @0xDeantoshi's strategy for finding the best leveraged opportunities. 6) Established Firm @solsticefi's Phase 2 is nearing its end, which is why @ExponentFinance's IY yield is declining, as details of Phase 3 are still unknown to my knowledge. That said, they're about to launch an STRC product (look at their brand new, massive marketing campaign), followed by a planned AI product. While SLX has indeed dipped recently (around $90 million in fixed value), they have some of the best leveraged cycles on Kamino, and I still think their Phase 2 is quite interesting. 7) Oddly enough, @avantprotocol has a senior secondary tranche that has higher priority than their secondary tranche but lower priority than their senior tranche. If this doesn't give you a headache, you've probably heard my podcast. Simply put, this is a vault on Royco's senior savUSD platform. This means Avant has its own secondary avUSDx, and Royco's new mechanism splits senior savUSD into two parts, effectively creating a mezzanine and a senior tranche. So jrsavUSD is tiered below srsavUSD but above avUSDx. In short, it accounts for nearly 10% of the tranche and is protected by the secondary tranche. I like the Avant team; they take operational security and SC security very seriously. That's all! Hopefully, something new will happen.
