Pi Network has completed its second round of Launchpad testing and distributed 10 million SLICE test tokens to participants. This round of drills focused on liquidity pools, automated market making, and token swaps, aiming to familiarize users with how the ecosystem tokens will be used before the mainnet launch.
242,000 people participated in the test.
This round of SLICE testing lasted from June 11th to June 28th, attracting over 242,000 Pioneers. Users collectively invested 15.92 million Test-Pi to obtain 10 million SLICE test tokens.
Compared to the initial Launchpad test, this event incorporated a live-running Slice of Pi game. This allowed the Pi Core Team to directly observe the participation rewards in a real-world application, rather than just testing in a demo environment.
Test-Pi enters the liquidity pool
One change in this test is that the Test-Pi contributed by users will not be directly given to the project team, but will be injected into the liquidity pool along with SLICE. Pi Network claims that this allows the token to have basic liquidity from the launch stage.
According to the project team, these tokens can be used for payment, rewards, governance, and application access in the future. Therefore, the focus of the testing is on actual exchange and liquidity operation, rather than simply distributing tokens.
Prices adjust automatically with each exchange.
Pi Network's pricing logic uses a common AMM formula, where the SLICE reserve multiplied by the Test-Pi reserve remains constant. If one asset in the pool decreases, another asset needs to be added, and its price will change accordingly.
- The initial example consists of 10 SLICEs against 10 Test-Pis.
- If 5 SLICE are purchased, only 5 will remain in the pool.
- To maintain a constant level, the Test-Pi reserve needs to be increased to 20.
This means that the remaining SLICE in the pool will become more expensive after purchase; if the user exchanges SLICE back into the pool, the SLICE reserve increases, the Test-Pi reserve decreases, and the displayed price will drop.
After the test token distribution was completed, participants can now view their individual SLICE allocation, the issue price and actual price, liquidity pool status, and real-time price charts related to Test-Pi exchanges. Pi Network stated that SLICE will not be migrated to the mainnet, but this round of testing will provide data reference for the official Launchpad.
