MoonPay has integrated its services with AI tool on the X platform. Grok allows users to directly purchase crypto assets, initiate transfers, and perform some lending-related operations within the chat. This indicates that AI chat tool is evolving from simply answering questions to undertaking more specific tasks such as executing payments and managing fund allocation.
Transactions can be initiated during conversations.
According to MoonPay, Grok is responsible for generating transaction instructions, and users then confirm through passkey before the funds are transferred. In addition to encryption functions, the related applications also support non-encryption scenarios such as booking flights and restaurants.
In the application named PayBox, users can also connect to the Solana ecological lending protocol Kamino and deposit USDC in relevant products to earn profits. USDC is issued by Circle and is pegged to the US dollar.
MoonPay has recently been continuously advancing the AI feature.
A few days before this integration was released, MoonPay just launched an encrypted lending feature that allows eligible users to manage their encrypted loans and deposits through ChatGPT or Claude. However, this integration is not currently available to users in the United States, the United Kingdom, the European Union, or Australia.
In July of this year, MoonPay also launched a platform for enterprises and institutions, which is used to trade and transfer digital assets between over 200 blockchain networks. Five months prior to that, the company released developer tools that allow AI to independently manage wallets and execute encrypted transactions.
AI Proxy Payment Competition Intensifies
The layout centered around “agentic commerce” has accelerated significantly in recent months. The core of this approach is to allow AI to act as an agent to complete searches, shopping, and payments on behalf of users.

Traditional payment networks are also keeping up with the trend. Visa launched Intelligent Commerce in April 2025, with plans to allow AI to use tokenized payment vouchers for transactions; Mastercard released Agent Pay in the same month, permitting verified AI agents to complete purchases within the user-defined limits.
It is not surprising that such a feature has appeared on the X platform. The platform owner, Elon Musk, is one of the co-founders of PayPal, and has long been promoting the expansion of digital payments and digital currency applications. As AI tools begin to directly connect wallets, payment networks, and lending protocols, the chat interface is gradually becoming a new entry point for transactions.
